Smart CarSmart Car, 2.6-metre Smart for two micro car manufactured by Daimler AG, earned the highest rating in front-end and side-impact testing by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

The idea behind the “Smart car” was to create a vehicle easy to parallel park and the name Smart is an acronym for Swatch Mercedes ART.

The project, started by Swiss watch manufacturer Swatch, was nicknamed the “Swatchmobile”. They then teamed up with Daimler-Benz and marketed the car as “smart” as the logo.
