Dell, the world’s second biggest maker of personal computers, announced on Monday that Brian Gladden, 43, will take over as chief financial officer, replacing Outgoing Don Carty who previously replaced James Schneider as CFO in December 2006. Don Carty will remain on Dell’s board, on which he has loyally served since 1992.
Brian Gladden is the former chief executive officier of SABIC Innovative Plastics Holding BV, which was formerly GE Plastics. Previously, Gladden worked at General Electric Co. for 20 years.
Brian Gladden will start at Dell on June 13 and report directly to Michael Dell, and will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s finance function, including financial planning and analysis, audit, treasure, accounting, tax and investor relations.
