George Carlin, an irreverent US comedian who was once arrested for offensive language after a performance of his cult routine “Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television”, died of heart failure in California. He was 71.

George Carlin is survived by Sally Wade, his second wife, and Kelly Carlin McCall, his daughter.

Brenda, his first wife, died of cancer in 1997.

Rest in peace, George Carlin.
