Oscar-winning Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie gave birth to twin, a boy and a girl by Caesarean section at the Lenval hospital in southern France on Saturday.

The boy, named Knox Leon, weighed 2.28 kg while her sister, Vivienne Marcheline, weighed 2.27kg. Marcheline was also the first name of Jolie’s mother, an actress, who died of cancer last year.

“The parents and the babies are in excellent health. Everything is fine,” Jolie’s doctor, Michel Sussmann, told Reuters. He said the c-section had been planned for a long time but the date was brought forward “for medical reasons.”

The doctor said Jolie was under epidural and was able to speak to a “perfectly calm” Pitt, 44, during the birth.

“They were very happy,” Sussmann said Pitt “was looking at what I was doing. He was my assistant. No, that’s a joke.”

Dr. Michael DeBakey, the pioneering heart surgeon who is renowned for his procedures developing bypass surgery and invented a host of devices to help heart patients, died at the age of 99.

Houston’s Methodist Hospital officials said DeBakey died of natural causes. They gave no additional details.

In Feb 2006, DeBakey underwent surgery, that used a procedure that he invented, for a damaged aorta.

“Dr. DeBakey’s reputation brought many people into this institution, and he treated them all: heads of state, entertainers, businessmen and presidents, as well as people with no titles and no means,” said Ron Girotto, president of the Methodist Hospital System.

“He has improved the human condition and touched the lives of generations to come.”

Dr. DeBakey is a pioneer in the development of artificial hearts, heart pumps, and other medical tools.

The famed doctor also assisted in the design of several surgical instruments as well.

DeBakey’s first wife, Diana Cooper DeBakey, died of a heart attack in 1972. Three years later, DeBakey married a German film actress, Katrin Fehlhaber.

Tony Snow, President George W. Bush’s former press secretary, has died of colon cancer, the White House confirmed on Saturday.

In May 2006, Tony Snow was a Fox News Channel and Fox News Radio broadcaster when he replaced Scott McClellan as President Bush’s press secretary.

Tony Snow served just 17 months as press secretary, a tenure interrupted by his second bout with cancer.

In Sep 2007, Tony Snow resigned as President Bush’s chief spokesman, citing a need to earn more money. He then joined CNN as a commentator.

Tony Snow, 53, is survived by his wife , a son and two daughters.

Apple has just released iTunes 7.7, a day before the iPhone 3G and iPhone 2.0 software are due to appear.

This latest version of iTunes is required for the iPhone 3G, Firmware 2.0, App Store and MobileMe.

According to Apple, a whole lot of 500 applications have been pushed to App Store in which 25% of the apps are free while 90% of the rest cost no more than $9.99.

After a long night, Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook has reached a divorce settlement at about 6 a.m.

Under terms of the divorce settlement, Peter Cook gets $2.1 million and parenting time while Christie Brinkley gets full custody of their children, Jack, 13, whom Cook adopted, and Sailor, 10 and keeps all their properties.

“I’m really glad today that we found some peace. It’s a very bittersweet moment. It really is the death of the marriage.” said Christie Brinkley.

Peter Cook, a former model turned architect, said he was pleased with the terms of the settlement. “I got everything I’ve been wanting for two years,” he said.

Christie Brinkley filed for divorce in 2006 after learning Peter Cook, Brinkley’s fourth husband, had an affair with an 18-year-old woman.

Matt Jones, former Razorback, was arrested early Thursday on a felony drug charge after police allegedly caught him in a vehicle with cocaine.

A police report says officers approached the car and found Matt Jones inside, using a credit card to chop up a white substance. An officer drew his handgun after Matt Jones did not immediately show his hands. They found a jar with possible marijuana residue inside the car and a plastic bag of what was likely cocaine. Officers say Matt Jones admitted he had cocaine.

Jared Hicks, also a former Razorback and Benjamin Cook who were inside the car, were also arrested on misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Candice Houlihan, a former stripper, has come forward claiming she had a brief affair with New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez and is lending her support to his soon-to-be ex wife Cynthia Rodriguez as she files for divorce.

Candice Houlihan, who claims she had sex twice with A-Rod in 2004, when his wife was pregnant with their first child, said “A leopard doesn’t change his spots. Good for her, I think she’s doing the smart thing. And she’ll probably get tons of cash.”

The next day, Candice Houlihan and her girlfriends searched Rodriguez on Google and she was shocked to find out that his wife was pregnant with their first child.

A-Rod called when he was in town for the American League Championship Series, and Candice Houlihan wasn’t freaked enough to blow him off. “He said he had a big game the next day. I like to say I helped us win,” she told the BH. “I reversed the curse!”

Alicia Marie, former New York fitness queen, is the latest to claim a close relationship with A-Rod after news that A-Rod’s wife, Cynthia Rodriguez, files for divorce.

Julie Donaldson, a sports reporter for NBC affiliate WHDH-TV in Boston, Massachusetts, has revealed during testimony against her boyfriend Ivan Lattimore that he has beaten her on several occasions.

The first assault occurred at the Super Bowl in Arizona and resulted in bruises on her arms. “I wore a long sleeve shirt and didn’t tell anyone,” Julie said.

The second attack occurred after a Celtics game against the Miami Heat on March 30. Julie Donaldson said that she lied to Ivan Lattimore about her whereabouts and that he was waiting for her when she returned to her apartment. “He grabbed me by my hair and took my hands by my wrists and made me punch my face.” She said.

Last attack was on June 27 after partying at a nightclub. He has been groping one of her friends and she said she wanted to break up. Ivan Lattimore then became violent and as she says threw her against the wall and punched several times in her face after a night of drinking at a Back Bay night spot. She said he punched her in the face at least twice, the Boston Globe reported. He also bit her on the left cheek. “I remember a slow motion punch coming from the right side of my face,” she said.

Julie Donaldson won the Miss Florida USA title in the state pageant held in Orlando, FL in July 2000 and competed in the Miss USA 2001 pageant won by Kandace Krueger of Texas.
