Paris Hilton’s mother, Kathy Hilton, is angry over John McCain’s Celeb Ad.

“It is a complete waste of the country’s time and attention at the very moment when millions of people are losing their homes and their jobs,” Kathy Hilton said. “And it is a completely frivolous way to choose the next president of the United States.”

John McCain, the Republican presidential candidate, said last week that his campaign ad mocking Democrat Barack Obama with images of Paris Hilton and singer Britney Spears was part of an attempt to inject humor into the presidential race.

The ad plays on Barack Obama’s popularity by dismissing him as a mere celebrity, like Hilton and Spears. John McCain on Friday denied that his campaign had taken a negative turn, saying, “We think it’s got a lot of humor in it, we’re having fun and enjoying it.”

The Barack Obama campaign has said the ad is proof that John McCain would rather launch negative attacks than debate important issues.

Kathy Hilton, however called the ad “a complete waste of the money John McCain’s contributors have donated to his campaign.” She and her husband donated a total of $4,600 to McCain’s campaign earlier this year.

Eric Cantor, House Chief Deputy Minority Whip, has been asked to provide “personal documents” to John McCain steps up his search for a running mate.

John McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said the campaign would have “no comment on anything related to the vice presidential issue.”

Virginia Rep Eric Cantor, 45, has been a forceful critic of Democrat Barack Obama’s resistance to lifting the federal ban on oil and gas drilling off the Atlantic and Pacific coasts.

Eric Cantor not only provides youth to the ticket but also provide John McCain with an important asset in Virginia, a state that last backed a Democrat for president in 1964 but which both parties are now targeting as a battleground.

If John McCain wins, Eric Cantor would become the first Jewish vice president.

Bill Clinton, former president, has announced that he is willing to campaign for White House hopeful Senator Barack Obama, who defeated his wife Hillary Clinton in the Democratic nomination race.

“He said he wanted me to campaign with him and I said I was eager to do so,” Clinton told reporters, “But he is busier than I am on politics anyway so I just told him whenever he wanted to do it I was ready. So it is basically on their timetable. He’s got a lot of things to do between now and the convention of which this is simply one. So I will do whatever I’m asked to do whenever I can do it.”

bill clintonObama and Clinton had a private meeting on June 30, but Mr. Clinton has not yet spoken publicly about it.

Clinton’s support has been branded as more of a liability than an asset for Obama, by Democratic strategists and a former fund-raiser for Senator Clinton’s campaign.

When asked to comment on the Jesse Jackson episode. Bill Clinton replied “He’s a good man. You know, if all of us lived on live mics, then 100% of us in this room would be embarrassed from time to time.”

John McCain, the Republican presidential candidate, is defending his position switch in favor of U.S. offshore oil drilling.

He believed he had made the right decision at a time of record-high gasoline prices and believes he has a chance to win California in the November election.

“I think the environmental situation is today — that we could probably do that,” John McCain said. “But I don’t want to override the state of California.”

The Democrats are trying to use his policy reversal on offshore drilling to portray him as a Republican who, if elected president, would be another George W. Bush.
