Ellen DeGeneres, 35 married longtime actress girlfriend Portia de Rossi, 50, at their Beverly Hills home in Los Angeles.

The ceremony was attended by 19 guests, including Ellen DeGeneres’ mom, Betty, and Portia de Rossi’s mother, Margaret Rogers, who had flown in from Australia.

Though no wedding date had been announced, the nuptials do not come as a surprise.

After the California Supreme Court’s ruling in May in favor of same-sex marriages, Ellen DeGeneres announced that she and Portia de Rossi would wed after four years together.

Ellen told the Advocate today:

I’m thrilled that the California supreme court overturned the ban on gay marriage. I can’t wait to get married. We all deserve the same rights, and I believe that someday we’ll look back on this and not allowing gays to marry will seem as absurd as not allowing women to vote.
