Oscar-winning Australian actress Nicole Kidman and husband country music singer Keith Urban welcomed a baby girl on 7th July 2008, calling her Sunday Rose.

“Nicole and Keith Urban are delighted to announce that Nicole Kidman gave birth to a baby girl on Monday morning, July 7, 2008 in the United States,” her agent, Allen Eichhorn, said.

“Sunday Rose Kidman Urban weighed six pounds, seven and a half ounces (2.9 kilograms). Husband Keith was by Nicole’s side and mother and baby are very well,” he added.

Kidman and Urban married in June 2006. She has two children, Isabella and Connor, from her marriage to Tom Cruise. Cruise filed for divorce in February 2001 after 10 years of marriage, and the divorce was finalized later that year.

Kidman, 41, won an Oscar for her role in the 2002 film “The Hours.”

Urban, 40, won a Grammy in 2006 for best male country vocal.

The couple, who were both raised in Australia, have a home in Nashville.

Oscar Pistorius, 21 years old South African double amputee sprinter, won his appeal on friday and can compete for a place in the Beijing Olympics.

CAS, Court of Arbitration for Sport, Oscar Pistorius is eligible to race against able-bodied athletes, overturning a ban imposed by the IAAF, International Association of Athletics Federations.

CAS said the unanimous ruling goes into effect immediately.

“I am ecstatic,” Pistorius said. “When I found out, I cried. It is a battle that has been going on for far too long. It’s a great day for sport. I think this day is going to go down in history for the equality of disabled people.”

“Oscar will be welcomed wherever he competes this summer,” IAAF president Lamine Diack said. “He is an inspirational man and we look forward to admiring his achievements in the future.”
