Jessica Simpson, the singer, actress and designer, is now the spokeswoman of Stampede Light Plus, a beer made by Dallas’s Stampede Brewing Co.

She will appear in ads in stores for the beer and is taking a 15 percent stake in the brewer.

Lawrence Schwartz, Stampede’s president and CEO, said “Simpson is the now face of the brand.”

In a statement, Simpson said that as an entrepreneur, she is “always looking for ways to diversify my portfolio with good ideas and good people.”

“Yes, I work out and take care of myself,” she added, “but I also like a cold beer once in a while.” Bottoms up!

Lynda CarterWonder woman Lynda Carter was out boating on the Potomac River in Washington D.C. on Wednesday afternoon when she saw a dead body floating face down in the water.

She notified nearby boaters who called 911. Paramedics who arrived performed CPR unsuccessfully.

District of Columbia police say the person who drowned was a woman, 47-year-old Helen Johnstone, who authorities believe that she may have slipped and fallen into the river while hiking on a nearby trail.

The medical examiner’s office has not declared an official cause of death.

Lynda Carter, born 24th July 1951, is an American actress and singer. She is best known for the Amazonian title role in the fantasy-adventure TV series Wonder Woman which aired from 1975 to 1979.

Gospel singer and songwriter Dottie Joyce Rambo, 74, died in a bus crash near Springfield, Missouri, early Sunday morning, May 11, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. She was apparently on her way to Texas. Rambo was traveling to Nashville for a Mother’s Day performance when her tour bus ran off the road and hit an embankment in Missouri. Seven other passengers on the bus suffered injuries and were hospitalized.

RIP, Dottie Rambo.
