Jim McKayJim McKay died at 86 on saturday of natural causes at his farm in Monkton.

Jim McKay, born on 24th Sep 1921, was an American television sports journalist. He is best known for hosting ABC’s Wide World of Sports covering a wide variety of special events, including horse races such as the Kentucky Derby, golf events such as the British Open, and the Indianapolis 500.

Jim Mckay died on 7th Jun 2008.

Iron Horse Bicycle Classic.The Iron Horse Bicycle Classic was the brain child of Tom Mayer and his older brother Jim who worked as a brakeman on the D & R G W railroad. Tom was a young bicycle enthusiast and challenged Jim to a race to Silverton. As the train came by the house, the steam whistle screamed and a race between man and machine started.

The 37th Iron Horse Bicycle Classic is held in Durango, Colorado on Saturday morning May 24, 2008. About 2,500 riders will take off to the small mining town of Silverton.

Singapore will host the first Youth Olympics in 2010 after the city-state won 53 out of 97 postal votes, International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Jacques Rogge announced on Thursday. Moscow won 44 votes.

The first Youth Olympics Games that will have about 3,200 athletes, aged 14-18, competing in 26 sports and will cost about $30 million.
